HubSpot – Rename HubSpot Defined Objects

What is it?

Admins can now configure the term they'd like to use in lieu of the HubSpot default for a particular object. For example, you might label deals as "opportunities." Once configured, "opportunities" will then be reflected across most HubSpot tools.

Why does it matter?

Not all customers use the same terminology. HubSpot should make it as easy as possible to migrate your teams onto a new system with the words they already use.

How does it work?

Watch this video for an overview. Navigate to Settings>Object Library. Select details on the object that you'd like to rename and click on the pencil icon next to the object name. Enter the singular and plural terms that you'd like to swap in for that object.   If there are any HubSpot properties that include the object name, we'll show them and make a recommendation for how they should be updated. You should review the proposed updates and either edit, delete, if you want to keep the original value, or keep and apply.   Once you hit save, the object name will propagate across HubSpot. You can rename any of the following objects: contacts, companies, deals, tickets, appointments, courses, listings and services.   Note: we have support for the new names across the vast majority of HubSpot. You may still notice the default name in certain features including mobile.
